Least Restrictive Environment

Least Restrictive Environment (LRE) means students with special needs should learn in the same classrooms as their peers as much as possible. Instead of being separated, they get the support they need to succeed in general education settings, like extra help or special tools. Only if necessary are they placed in more specialized settings. In short, it’s about including students in regular classrooms while giving them the help they need to thrive.
