Criterion-Referenced Test
A criterion-referenced test is like a "skills checklist" to see if someone has mastered specific knowledge or skills. Instead of comparing students to each other, this type of test measures whether a student meets a set standard or benchmark. For example, a driving test is criterion-referenced—you pass if you show you can drive safely, not based on how others did. In short, it’s about answering the question: Did you meet the goal? rather than How do you compare to others?
